Last night at class one of our regulars commented on the fact that now is the time people start to lose that New Years resolution momentum. It reminded me of this article I wrote last year at this time. Thought I’d repost as a reminder of how to stay on track after the New Year’s resolution high starts to fade.
By the end of February, most New Year’s fitness resolutions are abandoned. Don’t let that happen to you. Make the commitment to be the best version of yourself you can be in 2017 (now 2018). Here are some tips to help you stay on track.
1. INVEST IN IT
Now that you’ve been working out for about 6-weeks you’ve probably found the workout program that you enjoy doing. Now invest in it. Make the financial commitment to that program, it will keep you going. Make sure you buy the right exercise clothes and shoes that go with this program, doing this will prove to yourself that you’re taking your goals seriously.
2. GET ON A PROGRAM
Not knowing how you’ll get from point A to point B is a sure way to never get there. You need to map out a plan, set your goals. How will you build muscle, lose fat, or stick with your new diet? Need ideas on how to do this, join a group of like-minded and committed people. Check out our Lexercise Facebook Group.
3. ROCK OUT
Keep your workout fun! High energy music during your workout will provide that extra motivation you need for a productive workout. Associating your workouts with fun music will make you not want to miss them.
